1. Mount Everest, also known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in Tibet as Chomolungma, is Earth's highest mountain. It is located in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas. Its peak is 8,848 metres above sea level.

2. K2, also known as Chhogori/Qogir, Ketu/Kechu, and Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second highest mountain in the world at 8,611 metres, after Mount Everest.It is located on the border[3] betweenBaltistan, in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China.[4] K2 is the highest point of the Karakoram Range and the highest point in Pakistan.


3. Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m in a section of the Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal that is limited in the west by the Tamur River and in the east by the Teesta River.

4. Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world at 8,516 metres, after Mount Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga. Lhotse is located in Nepal. It is connected to Everest via the South Col. Lhotse means “South Peak” in Tibetan.

5. Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,481 metres. It is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas 19 km southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China.

6. Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world at 8,201 metres above sea level. Cho Oyu lies in the Himalayas and is 20 km west of Mount Everest, at the border between China and Nepal. Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan.

7. The Dhaulagiri massif in Nepal extends 120 km from the Kaligandaki River west to the Bheri. This massif is bounded on the north and southwest by tributaries of the Bheri River and on the southeast by Myagdi Khola.

8. Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres above sea level. It is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, in the west-central part of Nepal.

9. Nanga Parbat is the ninth highest mountain in the world at 8,126 metres above sea level. It is the western anchor of the Himalayas around which the Indus river skirts into the plains of pakistan. Nanga Parbat forms the western anchor of the Himalayan Range and is the westernmosteight-thousander. It lies just south of the Indus River in the Diamer District of Gilgit–Baltistan in Pakistan. Not far to the north is the western end of the Karakoram range.

10. Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes one peak over 8,000 metres, thirteen peaks over 7,000 metres, and sixteen more over 6,000 metres.
